FAQ
Where are you located? Do you travel?
We are located in the city of San Diego, California and we serve all its areas and surrounding cities in San Diego County. Please note that if a session is located outside of the city of San Diego or more than a 80 minute drive round trip, then we charge a $40 per hour extra fee in addition to the session fee.
What outdoor locations do you use?
We have a list of locations that we can suggest, but first we like to hear from you about the type of location that fits your style / preference for your photos. Then we make recommendations from there. Typically we like wooded areas, fields, beaches, or architecturally interesting areas.
What time do sessions start?
We schedule all outdoor lifestyle sessions to begin shooting one hour before sunset to take advantage of the best natural light. Remember to arrive a bit early for your session to allow time for parking, those last makeup touches and final clothing adjustments, and walking to the intended photo area. If you’re late, we cannot make up this time as we are limited by the sun setting. For in-home newborn sessions we typically schedule to begin in the late morning.
What should we wear to a session?
Great question! The short answer is whatever you feel comfortable wearing. The more comfortable you are in your clothing, the more comfortable you will appear in photos. We always recommend bright colors or patterns as these tend to show well in pictures. And while everyone loves Twin Day in third grade, having everyone match doesn’t always make for the best look. Everyone should look like an individual. Try choosing a color palette and have everyone wear different shades and styles of those colors. Oh, and for soon-to-be Mom’s, skip the black! We want to see that bump in all it’s glory.
Do you edit every photo you deliver?
Yes. Every photo you receive is hand picked and artfully edited to our signature style and coloring so that your entire collection looks and feels like a collection.
Do you sell prints?
Yes! Professional, high quality prints can be purchased from your personal and private online gallery that will be provided upon delivery of your image collection. Although we grant you the printing rights to have the images printed at any lab you like, we highly recommend printing through our professional lab that color matches our artfully edited digital file to the physical print. It makes a huge difference in the quality of the photo that you will display in your home.
Do you offer mini sessions?
Yes. Typically just before the holidays in October or November each year.
Do you shoot weddings?
Although we have captured weddings for over 11 years, at this time we are not capturing weddings any longer. We only capture couple engagement sessions.
